MY NAME IS JENNA
I'M A VIRTUAL MANAGER. AN EDUCATOR.
I am a Team Lead, Program Manager for the Adoption Coaching team within Consulting.
My team is a 100% travel team so a lot of the work I do managing this team is in regards to travel, expense reports, and working on client sites away from Kansas City. I also act as the Learning Partner for our team and provide all of the training/onboarding for our new associates, coordinate training for ongoing education for the rest of the team and ensure they are compliant on all Corporate Required Training. When I joined the team, one of the first projects I took on was reorganizing and updating our onboarding process for new associates. My goal was to create a “one-stop-shop” for new associates as they begin their careers at Cerner. Ultimately, I was able to create a virtual "New Hire Guide" that contains all of the files and links I would normally have sent via email or Teams. Now I am able to share one link and an associate has access to everything they need to be successful in their first few months. It has allowed me to be more effective in how I train new associates as well as ensure that the content and messaging is up-to-date and consistent each time a new coach joins our team. By moving everything to the cloud via SharePoint our associates can now access the content from their phones, so while they are on the road or in the airport they can stay connected and engaged on what is happening and can see the latest learning updates.

I act as the end-user proxy to my engineering team where I communicate the ask from the end user or strategist to my engineering teams. In my role, I help break down the high-level capability into smaller features and define what needs to be implemented as part of each feature. Once the product or the workflow has been implemented, I ensure that we developed all the features that were requested and demo it to all the stakeholders. I'M A SOFTWARE ENGINEER. A FORWARD THINKER.
Before coming onboard, I was a part of the Cerner Scholars Internship Program.
During that internship I enjoyed working on the Service Delivery Operations Team within Consulting. As a KCIT Apprentice, I work 20 hours a week during school and 40 hours per work during the summers with AMS CCL Custom Reporting Team. As a high school student, it can be imitating to work with adults that have been in the field that you hope to be in one day. It was a challenge to find how I could make a difference as younger associate at Cerner. My team was so welcoming and encouraged me to continue to seek answers and gain as much knowledge as I can. I was partnered up with several mentors that I was able to shadow and help with my daily tasks. Additionally, being able to work with associates’ side by side, inspired me to work harder in classroom. Overall, with the drive and resources Cerner has I've been able to grow through many roles at Cerner. As a Software Engineer, I build, and support report requests that are used by hospitals to help: reduce errors, maximize client workflows, streamline documentation, and increase profits for our clients.

I’M DIRECTOR OF AMBULATORY AN INTEGRATOR.
In the Ambulatory space, large clients have struggled with how to grow their clinical integration with non-owned clinics and hospitals. These clients looked to Cerner for the answer regarding how to technically achieve this and identify the model from an operational perspective. Our Ambulatory leaders worked together to develop the CommunityLink model, which is now Cerner’s domain extension model for clients to extend their domain to clinics and hospitals. The CommunityLink model provides a way for our clients to create clinical integration and has accomplished many goals. It has increased the opportunity to provide more clinical integration, not only to our clients, but cross-clients as well, which will improve patient care and access to data.

I’M A CLIENT OWNER. A PRIMARY CLIENT CONTACT.
I’m a client’s single connection point to Cerner.
Internally, we are striving to improve the way we upgrade our solutions to enhance the client experience and reduce the amount of effort they expend. Case in point: I was able to secure a partnership with a client and work across organizations within Cerner to ensure alignment and better identify opportunities to improve upon that upgrade process. This allowed them to stay current in Cerner’s Millennium® software with less work, learn about new features and enhancements and adopt new solutions and roll them out at a faster pace. As a result, this client has now completed three Millennium upgrades in six months, keeping them up on the latest release within weeks of its availability without taking a single down time for their end users. We are also identifying aspects of our solutions that can be further improved and may allow us to shift the release model entirely.
