Job Description

As a System Engineer you will perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability, perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, and resource optimization, implement monitoring for applications and servers, and respond to alarms in a timely manner, preventing client impact and performance degradation and deploy physical and virtual servers. You will also complete assigned incident management tasks, deploy, setup, and maintain testing environments, and provide Tier III and other support per service request.

This position offers a Hybrid or Remote working environment. Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote. If you are not within a metro area of a Cerner office, you can live and work in your current geographical location and work primarily remote. #LI-Hybrid #Remote

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 4 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • Willing to travel up to 80% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position

Due to specific client contract requirements, this position requires that the successful candidate be a U.S. citizen. The client contract also requires receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for the position.
