Job Description

The Application Architect translates study specific requirements into concise and robust software evaluation / programming code, and has in-depth knowledge of relevant IT infrastructure and process analytic skills .
The role involves writing specifications and designing, assessment and risk evaluation according to our data processing workflow, testing, implementing and supporting applications The principal function of a Senior Application Architect is to apply his/her knowledge of programming techniques and IT infrastructure to evaluate, assess and create an environment to perform typically electronic data capture in the clinical research area and to support data management and project administration tasks in accordance with the SOPs and specifications as agreed with the sponsor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Development and maintenance of web-based data capture and study administration systems
  • Risk assessment for changes according change management procedures
  • Implementation of changes according change management procedures
  • Consultancy of internal and external stakeholders with regard to the technical realization of specific study demands
  • Consultancy within the project team with regard to the requirements of the application
  • Responsible for the adaption and implementation of different application modules as required for the study conduct
  • Testing of sample data-sets to check that output from the application works as intended
  • Support and supervise detailed documentation of application implementation
  • Incident management to locate and resolve any issues and errors
  • Increase application operating efficiency and adapt to new requirements
  • Active participation in meetings to evaluate and to present application modules
  • Prioritizes and manages workload with minimal input from Team Leader to ensure agreed deadlines are met
  • I considered a point of contact for technical project aspects
  • Develops own knowledge and personal skills in line with business requirements
  • Co-operation in further development of internal guidelines and SOPs
  • Consultancy of internal stakeholders with regard to third party applications and technical solutions, support of implementation
  • Oversight of IT infrastructure related to the study applications and ongoing communication with IT service providers.

Working Environment

Hybrid & Onsite: No Relocation Assistance Offered

This position offers a Hybrid & Onsite working environment. Meaning you will split working time between a Cerner office or client site and remote. If your current geographical location requires relocating, Cerner will not offer relocation assistance to the specified location. #LI-Hybrid

Qualifications

  • Master Degree in computer science, computer engineering, programming, or a related field
  • Several years practical experience
  • Good understanding of the requirements in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector related to applications and technical solutions
  • Solid experience in designing and building applications
  • Experience and knowledge of programming languages
  • In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools
  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles
  • Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Great attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong ability to self-organize and multitask
  • Good understanding of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector
  • Strong management skills internal stakeholder and in client contact
  • Ability to further develop programming standards and technical solutions
  • Ability to work closely with Clinical Team to develop and communicate the organization's point of view
