Cerner is hiring! We are looking for Android and/or iOS developers for the application platform team responsible for the mobile platform. Analyze, design, code, debug, test and modify new software or enhancements while considering software abilities. You will be creating the architecture for delivering a mobile Platform as a Service (PaaS) to allow consumers to push their applications and concepts into a mobile application rapidly without needing to ramp up their mobile skills. You will create strategic technical designs for small scope projects within team. Provide high-level architecture guidance and develop specifications to resolve software problems. Consult with stakeholders on current functionality and complexity of adding features and estimate effort for current and future projects of small to medium scope. In this role, you will debug complicated issues that span multiple modules, involve complex concurrency or low-level problems. Propose and lead process improvements projects for development, deployment or application monitoring. This position offers a Hybrid or Remote working environment. Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 8 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
    • At least 3 years software engineering work experience
    • At least 5 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:
      • Associate's degree in Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Strong Ruby development skills, Docker, Git, Kubernetes, Rest API: JAX-RS, observability with New Relic and Splunk. Non-technical Skills: willing to work on abstract/non-concrete/open-ended projects, embrace and promote engineering culture such as participating in writing blogs, meetups, KTs, lightning talks, tech talks, passionate with mentoring other junior engineers.
