Senior Strategic Federal Development Executive

Job Description

As a Senior Strategic Federal Development Executive you will partner with internal stakeholder teams including capture, proposals and contracting to create and execute innovative win strategies to close new or additional contracts within the federal client base and create and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders and influencers of all levels within client federal agencies or offices. You will also consult with and educate clients on Cerner products and services, clearly articulating how Cerner’s vision and value proposition address the client’s needs and build a network of cross-functional relationships across product marketing, product management and product development to drive alignment and education on product availability, functionality and roadmaps. You will have responsibility for identifying areas where resources are underutilized within the broader team or organization and overseeing execution of and maintain accountability for cross-functional sales processes throughout the sales lifecycle, including proposal development and contracting. Delivering top-line growth for Cerner through new contract bookings and managing and maintaining an accurate sales pipeline and forecast to advance and close opportunities against a sales quota are critical to the job.

This position offers a Hybrid or Remote working environment. Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote. Basic Qualifications

  • At least 8 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
  • At least 2 years of Sales, business development, client relationship management, healthcare information technology consulting or other client facing or HCIT solution work experience
  • At least 6 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job
  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance, or Human Resources Management
  • At least 3 years of sales experience in the federal market
  • Experience within U.S. Dept of Health & Human Services (HHS) and sub-agencies

  • Currently living in a virtually approved city
  • Willing to travel up to 50%
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Due to specific client contract requirements, this position requires that the successful candidate be a U.S. citizen. The client contract also requires receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for the position.
