Job Description

As part of the Cerner Healthe Clinic, the Revenue Cycle Specialist I will perform medical billing and collection activities for assigned patient accounts. In this role, you will perform routine revenue cycle business office responsibilities for cash posting, claims, follow-up, or credits functions; communicate with patients, government agencies, and third-party payers to gather, process, and record information needed for appropriate reimbursement; and review and complete all assigned work within the solutions utilized by the client. You will also be expected to meet or exceed productivity and quality performance expectations and review patient account information for completeness and accuracy and determine appropriate next actions. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • 2 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
    • 1-year patient financial services and/or medical revenue cycle work experience
    • 1-year additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) - AAPC
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) - Healthcare Financial Management Association
Expectations
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • Must currently reside in, or near, Kansas City, MO
