Job Description

As a Senior Consultant, you will consult with clients on Contract Management systems. This senior level subject matter expert will possess contract management experience and have base knowledge of Patient Accounting. High level knowledge of revenue cycle: claims, billing, coding, charge capture, and variance analysis is preferred. The ideal candidate should also understand insurance payer contract analysis and have familiarity with professional, governmental, and commercial contract reimbursement. In addition, this senior consultant will need to be experienced with CM and Patient Accounting service line workflows, including current state and future state, and work with clients to map out how the CM system will be designed and tested. The Consultant will build and enter contracts with a high degree of expected reimbursement accuracy, as compared to actual payments received. This associate will assist in testing, validation, and variance resolution. The candidate will identify, resolve, and report solution status, risks, and issues to client and project leadership, coach clients on data collection and system design requirements and analyze to determine optimal solution build implementation. This CM team member will also consult with internal project and organizational teams to provide project timelines, project updates, and verify configuration requests. As a key member of the team, you will maintain client relationships and navigate through conflict and complex relationship situations to achieve business objectives, coach and mentor associate consultants and support internal team initiatives.

This position offers a Remote working environment. Meaning you can live and work in your current geographical location and work primarily remote. There could be times you will be requested to travel and/or visit a Cerner office or client site. #Remote

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 8 years total combined completed higher education and related work experience, including:
    • At least 2 years healthcare information technology (HCIT) consulting, HCIT support and/or other client-facing or information technology (IT) solution work experience
    • At least 6 years of additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Cerner’s Revenue Cycle solutions
  • Knowledge of Commercial and Governmental reimbursement
  • Ability to analyze Payer Contract language
  • Previous Contract Management system experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Advanced with Microsoft Excel
  • HFMA CRCR Certification (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative).

  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
