Job Description

As a Software Engineer III on the Unified Development Ecosystem(UDE) - Managed Kubernetes team you will analyze, design, code, debug, test and support the software to build, support and monitor Kubernetes clusters. You will create strategic technical designs for small scope projects within team. You will provide high-level architecture guidance and develop specifications to resolve problems. You will Develop and deploy automation tools to optimize daily activities for our team and consumers. You will Support installation and maintenance of Cerner solutions, layered software, and infrastructure. You will perform daily system operations tasks to ensure system integrity and availability. You will propose and lead process improvements projects for development, deployment, and application monitoring. You will share knowledge within team through mentorship, coaching, technical talks, and blogs.

Working Environment

Hybrid or Remote

This position offers a Hybrid or Remote working environment. Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote. If you are not within a metro area of a Cerner office, you can live and work in your current geographical location and work primarily remote. #LI-Hybrid #Remote

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 5 years, total combined related work experience and completed higher education:
    • At least 1 year Software engineering work experience
    • Additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, At least 4 years, including:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
Expectations
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • Experience with containers and container management
  • Experience with provisioning as code (terraform/cloud formation)
  • Experience with configuration as code (chef/ansible)
  • Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins/Spinnaker)
