Cerner’s Data as a Service team is looking for a Data Analyst II to help improve Cerner’s Real-World Data product. You will analyze, prepare, and process data sets to be consumed by users for healthcare research, machine learning, and data science. Some areas of focus for the position will be auditing data sets for validity and completeness; accessing and compiling data from various sources for exploratory analyses; evaluating data sets for research feasibility; and transforming data for specific team functions as appropriate. You will also be asked to explore data, create basis data visualizations, and help inform product managers on how best to improve Cerner’s data products. We are looking for motivated candidates with experience using Python and SQL.

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 6 years of total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
    • At least 1 year of data analytics and/or statistics work experience, including experience in quantitative or statistical analysis, data mining, predictive or statistical modeling, applied programming, data management, data transformation, data visualization and/or quantitative or statistical research
    • At least 5 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job, including:
      • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
    • At least 1 year of experience with SQL and Python
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience with R programming
  • At least 1 year of experience with Apache Spark and AWS
  • Must be willing to reside in or relocate to the Kansas City, MO metro area or live within a virtually approved city
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
