Job Description

As a Manager, Accounting, you will work across Cerner’s revenue portfolio analyzing financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures. You will review stand-alone selling price and variable consideration estimates. You will collaborate with department leadership to review internal accounting processes and controls, identify and recommend process improvements or system enhancements, assess audit risks, and support the external audit process as applicable. Leveraging your strong analytical skills, you will partner with business leaders to interpret financial reporting and business trends to assist key decision makers in forming an objective view of operations, results and opportunities. Leveraging your management skills, you will lead, direct, and review the team’s goals and work to achieve operational or functional objectives, delivering consistent training, guidance, and feedback to promote Associate success. You will lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, providing overall process leadership, communication and reporting across the team.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 8 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
    • 2 years of Finance and/or Accounting work experience
    • 6 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the job, including:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration; or related field; or equivalent, relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of people management work experience
Expectations
  • Must reside in or be located in the Kansas City area
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
