Cerner’s Population Health Practice is a new, exciting part of our organisation transforming the way care is managed and delivered, using technology to underpin the management of population health across geographies. Within Population Health Practice, the Data Onboarding team is responsible for integrating patient data from disparate EPRs into a standards-based, vendor neutral platform for use in applications that used in all health and care settings.

As an Data/Interface Engineer II, you will be a key member of the Population Health Europe team and a subject matter expert on healthcare data integration. You will be the primary point of contact for the Client team extracting and loading data from their systems and a key contributor for large scale and complex projects. Your role will include coaching our clients towards the use of the recommended standards for data extraction, guiding them into setting up the data feeds, and ensuring consistency in design across clients.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field, OR 4 years related work experience Plus:
  • 2 years additional higher education or relevant work experience including
    • 1 year of system administration and/or system engineering work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • SQL and relational database knowledge/experience
  • At least 3 years of experience working with database architectures
  • At least 1 year working with FHIR, HL7, X12, IHE or comparable interface work experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with Linux command line
  • At least 3 years of programming experience
Expectations
  • Willing to travel 40% of the time
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
