Cerner creates software solutions to support clinicians and healthcare professionals in hospitals and healthcare organizations worldwide.

Cerner’s hosting organization, CernerWorks, is growing, and is currently seeking a System Engineer I to join the Global CernerWorks Client Operations team as we look to expand the team that supports the client systems as part of our hosting business. This position will be based in Stockholm, where you will begin with managing a large-scale Client and projects that will span across Sweden and other countries in EU. You will be part of the exciting new projects in which we remotely host our Cerner Millennium system in order to provide an integrated digital healthcare environment, replacing existing IT systems in hospitals and primary care facilities for a comprehensive solution.

In this role, you will be part of a Global team in a fast-paced environment, spanning different time zones as you work with various teams and team members to run both live production and non-production systems that you will support, monitor, and manage in order to keep systems running smoothly and within contracted service level agreements.

As a System Engineer I you are responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly activities required to keep a client system running at peak performance. In addition, you are in line of contact with the clients, as the primary objective is client satisfaction and system uptime. You will perform a variety of technical tasks, like troubleshooting issues, providing technical support, completing the tasks part of the project work in addition to following all process and procedures, escalating issues, and creating/updating all documentation as necessary. You also need a strong understanding of administration of core technology such as Citrix, Windows, Websphere and basic understanding of Networking, Active Directory, UNIX administration etc. System Engineers also manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously while working across multiple team environments and time zones.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering; or related field, or 4 years relevant work experience
  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications
  • Swedish, French or Dutch language is a plus
  • Windows and Citrix support or Linux administration experience
  • Websphere administration experience
Expectations
  • Able to travel up to 20% or more as needed
  • Available to be on-call as well as work additional or irregular hours as needed
  • The position is based in Stockholm, Sweden
