Within Cerner’s Human Resources team, the Employee Relations team is responsible for addressing employment and workplace issues that arise within the business. With problem-solving as the key outcome, the team focuses on consulting with leaders and employees on concerns while being mindful of laws, Safety, policies, practices, and potential risk to the company. The Employee Relations team offers the opportunity to be part of a worldwide group of collaborative and skilled Employee Relations Partners located in the United Kingdom, United States, and India as well as an HR team in Germany.

As an Employee Relations Partner, you will play an integral role in resolving workplace matters primarily for employees located in central Europe including Germany and Austria. You will be responsible for assisting leadership as part of Cerner’s recent acquisition of Kantar Health. Additionally, you will be consulting and advising leadership on employment policy and practices interpretation as well as delivery of formal corrective action including dismissals. When employee grievances or concerns are filed, you will conduct basic investigations and keep appropriate documentation. While working closely with the in-country HR Business Partners, your guidance will be needed in resolving employment-related escalations. Furthermore, you will be responsible for Health and Safety topics for our German and Austrian organizations.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Psychology, Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

  • Several years human resources work experience

  • Full understanding of German and Austrian employment law

  • Fluent (written and verbal) in English and German

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience engaging with Germany and Austria Works council

  • Understanding of a matrix-structured organization

  • CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) certified or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) - HR Certification Institute or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) - Society for Human Resource Management or related Certification
  • Knowledge of and experience in Health and Safety Regulations in Germany and Austria
Expectations:
  • Willing to travel up to 25% as needed.
  • Willingness to work overtime or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
