Job Description

As a Senior Interface Engineer, you will be in a client facing role with the responsibility to implement Interoperability products for Cerner clients. You'll be involved in building, installing, and configuring Cerner interfaces and code basic/complex interfaces. This will include facilitating integration, troubleshooting and resolving complex system interface issues, and supporting testing during the life cycle of the project. You will perform complex data migration and conversion programs and may also include some additional scripting to conform to another systems specifications. Time management, communication, and problem solving skills are the key to maintaining relationships with clients and meeting their expectations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field or relevant equivalent work experience
· At least 1 year of interface engineering work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
· At least 3 years of database architecture work experience
· At least 3 years of Linux command line work experience
· At least 3 years of programming work experience
· At least 1 year of HL7, X12, IHE or comparable interface work experience

Expectations:
· Willing to travel up to 40% as needed
· Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
· Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
· Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Additional Information

Due to specific client contract requirements, this position requires that the successful candidate be a U.S. citizen. The client contract also requires receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for the position.

Some Cerner positions may be obligated to comply with client-facing requirements and occupational health requests, including but not limited to, an immunization set, an annual flu shot, an annual TB screen, an updated background check, and/or an updated drug screen.
