Job Description

The Cerner Government Services leadership team continues to grow rapidly as we have expanded our federal client partnerships. As a Senior Director, Deputy Program Manager with Cerner, you will be responsible for directly supporting the Program Manager for our Federal client in leading and managing the EHRM Program. You will act as a trusted advisor, subject-matter expert and escalation point for the client and Cerner senior staff through building and maintaining relationships, strategic consultation and resolution of issues. You will plan and direct cross-functional teams to deliver the Program on time and within expected scope and budget and develop and lead strategies to improve client satisfaction and referenceability and set the foundation to expand the business relationship through future sales opportunities. You will be responsible for leading regular service reviews with the client and Cerner leadership to track performance against KPIs and other goals and create and advance tailored roadmaps to drive client value through improved operational and financial results and patient outcomes. You will also oversee all Cerner contracts and delivery teams under the Program to ensure client value and drive consistency in strategy, messaging and delivery and the portfolio of task order financials and profitability including annual funding and budgeting, pricing, rate reviews and concerns related to billing/invoicing and cash collection. You will establish and improve business processes for the program and provide visibility to Cerner management and the client and manage the execution of the Program’s strategic roadmap, to include accountability for risk management.

The successful candidate for this role will have extensive experience in management with both staff and budget responsibilities. You will have exceptional analytical ability and the ability to communicate complex concepts to executives and working level audiences. You will have robust organizational, written and verbal communication skills, to drive delivery and a program’s vision and strategy with the right processes, communication channels and metrics in place to measure and ensure success. Experience working with highly complex projects or programs within a Federal Government context is required. You will have a proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams and have demonstrated experience with complex multi-stakeholder decision-making.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 11+ years of management and/or management consulting experience, including staff and P&L responsibility
  • Experience leading large, complex, high-visibility projects and programs within the US Federal Government context
  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance applicable for your position
  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with direct senior level client relationships
  • Currently living in or willing to relocate to the Arlington, Virginia metropolitan area
  • Ability to travel less than 20%
