As a Documentation Architect on the Cerner Government Services team, you will have the opportunity to grow with the world’s largest Healthcare IT company. You will author and edit project documentation for both internal and external use. This documentation includes, but is not limited to, solution specifications, project communications, and formal documents which outlines how contractual requirements are met. You will also lead efforts to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy across project documentation. You will review client comments regarding submitted documentation and assist in the development of comment responses. Your daily work will include tracking assigned project tasks to ensure deadlines are met and documentation has been completed appropriately, as well as assisting in documentation support campaigns as they arise.

As a Documentation Architect, you will also be expected to review contractual obligations to ensure that requirements are being met across multiple projects as well as analyze contractual obligations to identify necessary modifications and assist in those efforts. You will provide documentation guidance and recommendations to project owners, SMEs, editors, and Documentation Architects. You will also provide support to project owners in discussions with the client regarding submitted documentation and help lead team, department, and program initiatives.

To help implement program optimization efforts, you will define and record documentation strategy, including processes, tools, reports, and design. You will train and mentor on documentation processes, audit for compliance, and provide feedback to encourage improvement. You will participate in initiatives that advance team and organizational goals and improve the effectiveness of associates, tools, and processes. You will communicate and monitor tasks and deadlines, while developing strategies for improving compliance with deadlines. You will address routine and complex documentation issues with limited guidance from others. You will perform associate management responsibilities as directed, including selection, development, and retention of high-performing associates.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Technical Communication or English
  • At least 3 years Technical documentation work experience
  • Due to the client contract, you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Federal or government experience
  • Healthcare IT experience
  • Contract Documentation experience
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Technical Communication or English
Expectations
  • Willing to travel up to 10 % as needed
  • Currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Northern Virginia /DC area, or live in a virtually approved city
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Additional Information

Due to specific client contract requirements, this position requires that the successful candidate be a U.S. citizen. The client contract also requires receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for the position.
