Job Description

Cerner is looking for a team-oriented storyteller to develop best-in-class internal communications that inform and inspire Cerner associates and other audiences. As a Sr. Communications Partner, you will create content for business-related internal communications campaigns and strategic initiatives. In this writing-intensive role, you will regularly produce various types of content for multiple communication channels, including email, ppt. presentations, stories for the corporate intranet, video scripts, Yammer posts and occasional social media content development. The ideal team member has a proven ability to absorb business information and create clear, tangible narratives for internal audiences and prospective employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and execute a communications strategy that is connected to our values and aimed at elevating our culture. Understand the needs of the various audience groups and stakeholders across the company and utilize technology channels or communication formats that inspire and motivate team members. Maintain the Cerner voice across all internal communications, written and verbal. Work closely with key partners and teams to ensure communications align with overall company vision and strategy. Assist in maintaining the communications editorial calendar and build a cohesive and strategic content strategy by identifying the right story/series concepts for all channels including newsletters, email announcements, press releases, websites, video scripting, social media, and special projects as needed. Proactively identify new opportunities to improve our communications programs and initiatives. Develop content for the company Intranet, integrating content and communications so that it becomes the “go to” resource for employees seeking news and information about the company. Stay up to date on trending communication tactics and strategies in the market.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of business writing or business communications work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Business Administration, or related field of study or relevant, equivalent work experience

Expectations
  • Ability to develop and execute a communications strategy and link it to the company’s strategic priorities/goals
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Experience effectively driving change and transformation
  • Excellent knowledge corporate intranet solutions
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Additional Information
