Job Description

The Cerner Government Services leadership team continues to grow rapidly as we have expanded our federal client partnerships. For this opportunity we are seeking an experienced learning leader that would be responsible for defining and implementing the enterprise Learning strategy and supporting pillars for VA and future Federal clients. You will play a critical role transforming how we design learning and development programs; create, curate and deliver development experiences, and how we use modern methods to deliver these experiences. You will act as a consultant, innovator and thought leader that brings out-of-the-box learning solutions to build organizational skills, competencies and effectiveness which support business performance.

The successful candidate for this role will have expert experience in learning strategies and project management along with a proven track record of success leading large teams. Additionally, you will have expertise working with both internal and external stakeholders to help deliver executable strategies that can be utilized within and across multiple business units. We’re also looking for a candidate that has experience in evolving and scaling technical training programs for large, geographically dispersed workforces. A deep understanding of the federal sector and experience with federal contracting is required along with extensive experience in managing large projects.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 7+ years of experience within the Learning and/or HR field
  • 5+ years of experience with federal contracting
  • 7+ years of consulting experience
  • 7+ years of client management experience
  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance applicable for your position
  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Adult Education and Learning, or similar field
  • Learning industry certification
  • 7+ years of experience leading large teams of 25+
  • Experience with technical training programs for large 100K+ workers, geographically distributed workforces
Expectations

  • Currently living in or willing to relocate to the Arlington, Virginia metropolitan area or in a virtually approved city
  • Ability to travel up to 20% if located in DC, 50% if virtual

Additional Information

Due to specific client contract requirements, this position requires that the successful candidate be a U.S. citizen. The client contract also requires receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for the position.

Some Cerner positions may be obligated to comply with client-facing requirements and occupational health requests, including but not limited to, an immunization set, an annual flu shot, an annual TB screen, an updated background check, and/or an updated drug screen.
