Being an Associate Lead Software Engineer on the Cerner Government Services team is both rewarding and challenging. The Associate Lead Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical direction, coaching, and mentoring a team and ensuring that quality applications are developed to meet specified business needs. In this role you must have a thorough understanding of requirements and a deep understanding of software engineering domains. You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle and lead efforts to automate as much of the lifecycle as possible through the cultivation of a DevOps culture.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, CIS, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience

  • At least 5 years of software engineering work experience and 3 years of Java Development

  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position

  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with Java

  • Experience working in *nix based environments

  • Experience with working with Chef, Ansible or related tools

  • Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Apache Karaf

  • Experience with Apache Kafka, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash and beats)

  • Experience with relational databases

  • Experience with NoSQL databases or wide column data stores.

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment, especially using Jenkins

Expectations

  • Must be residing in or willing to relocate to Arlington, VA
