The Foreign System Interfaces team work closely with other Cerner solution teams and third-party companies in providing a seamless exchange of information between Cerner products and disparate hospital systems, to aid clinicians and other healthcare providers in the safe treatment of patients.

As Cerner Interface Engineer you will work closely with an Interface Architect to coordinate interface design and implementation activities to integrate Cerner’s Millennium products with third-party hospital systems, ensuring that the right data is received by the right people at the right time. This interface and integration work allows clinicians and other healthcare providers to make accurate assessments on patients to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient and reduce medical error.

As Interface Engineer you will be responsible for building and testing interface design and providing interface support during implementation activities. You will configure and install Cerner interfaces. You will be expected to troubleshoot and resolve system interface issues whilst supporting testing during the life cycle of the project. You will also be expected to perform and test complex data migration and conversion programs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer or Management Information Systems or related field, or relevant equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year database architecture work experience, preferably SQL based;
  • At least 1 year experience coding and/or using Linux;
  • At least 1 experience in developing software using one or more preferred programming languages, including Java, C++, C#, JavaScript, Ruby, Python;
  • Knowledge of HL7 integration development.

Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 20%;
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations;
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organisational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position;
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Information
