If so, Cerner is currently looking to hire an Associate Senior Enterprise Database Administrator to work within its corporate foundation, First Hand. First Hand provides free programs that assist children and families across the globe achieve their full health potential. The foundation’s programs produce positive outcomes for thousands of individuals in the Kansas City community and around the world. In this role, you will be working with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL based databases and associated ELT/ETL processes. The core functions of this role are managing data from the point of collection though delivery to our internal and external partners on various reporting platforms. This includes proactive and reactive support, troubleshooting and research of performance, space management, data quality, and data access items along with other technical responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to work on projects to improve data transfer processes, task automation, operational stability, and performance by utilizing new features and functionality with each new release. As a DBA, you will be responsible for ensuring that database configurations, data processes, and jobs comply with published standards and policies. Working knowledge of SQL Server 2012 and beyond is required. Lastly, you will be interacting with internal and external clients and community partners, at various levels, concerning technical and non-technical topics related to First Hand’s data, database systems, and processes.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Software, Electronics, Operational Research, or Computer System Engineering, and/or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 1 year of data management work experience
  • At least 2 years of system administration or engineering work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL Server 2012 and beyond
  • Understanding of ETL-ELT processes
  • Experience with Shell scripting in Linux and Windows shell environments
  • Experience with Azure, Data Bricks, and the Cerner Data Lake
Expectations
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to Kansas City
