Lead Payroll Operations Specialist

Job Description

As a Lead Payroll Operations Specialist, you will work on our in-house U.S. payroll production within a multi-state, multi-company environment ensuring the on-time and accurate issuance of payroll payments and related reports for bi-weekly and special payrolls. You will also be expected to participate in systems design and integration projects with a focus on efficiency, reengineering and documenting departmental procedures, systems and work flows. You will be responsible for helping to navigate associates and managers through change management, monitor and maintain internal procedures and controls and ensure the integrity of the payroll database and payments through the development of standard and ad hoc edits and reports. This role will be responsible for working with our tax service provider to ensure accurate and on-time payment of all payroll tax, ensuring timely processing of all tax notices, and processing additional tax payments that are not supported by our tax provider. Additional duties will include assisting the payroll accountant with tax reconciliations, assisting with the payroll year-end process, assisting with tax adjustments and corrected W-2’s as needed, and working with associates on escalated tax questions and issues.

About Corporate


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 2 year of business operations work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in a progressive payroll role
  • Experience with Workday Payroll
  • Experience with Ceridian tax service
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Kansas City
  • Proven knowledge of multi-state payroll tax regulations and administration
