Job Description

As Director of Clinical Applications, you will lead a diverse technical and clinical organization to support, implement, and enhance a suite of enterprise clinical applications. You will own the IT application relationship with key organization and departmental leaders to develop and execute a strategic and operational roadmap of enterprise clinical applications.

In your role as a clinical lT director, your voice will be key to aligning the organization’s vision and mission with IT strategy and guiding the evaluation, selection, design, development, and implementation of clinical applications that support the clinical IT roadmap. You will also participate in the completion of annual financial planning for operational and capital budgeting to support ongoing and future IT initiatives.

About Clinical

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Active licensure as a clinician
  • At least five years of application implementation and support experience with Cerner Millennium clinical solutions.
  • At least three years of progressive leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and developing both clinical and technical associates and managing multiple teams.
  • Working knowledge and experience with managing clinical systems with an integrated revenue cycle system.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 7 years of Health care information technology (HCIT) consulting and/or support work experience with a track record of collaborating with business and clinical stakeholders to develop and execute an IT roadmap that successfully aligns to improving business or clinical outcomes.
  • At least 3 years of experience implementing and/or supporting Cerner clinical systems in new footprints and optimization of existing platforms.
  • Master’s degree in informatics, health administration or similar field of study.
  • Previously merger and acquisition (M&A) experience integrating new healthcare organizations into an existing complex IT environment.
  • ITIL V3 or V4 Foundations and Intermediate certificates in service strategy, transition and operations.

Expectations
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. metro area
  • Take leadership on call responsibility per an established schedule

Additional Information
