Being an Associate Lead Software Engineer on the Share Services Engineering Infrastructure & Operations team is both rewarding and challenging. The team provides services that have a direct impact on both our clients and Cerner associates. Our work is non-routine, complex, and involves solving problems at an enterprise level. The solution is a continuously deployed, highly scalable, cloud-native, microservice based architecture running in AWS on Pivotal Cloud Foundry. It uses the following specific tools and technologies: Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, Spring Cloud Streams, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Concourse, Git, Maven, Apache Kafka, Elasticsearch, and ReactJS.

The Associate Lead Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical direction in architecture discussion, design sessions and code review for functional correctness, architectural maintainability and performance. You will create code specifications at the system level. You will leverage deep technical and solution expertise to create clear, well-constructed strategic technical designs of moderate scope. Also, you will influence and lead software engineers at the project level by delegating tasks, mentoring the team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, CIS, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of software engineering work experience
  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3+ years of experience with Java
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodology
  • Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, and/or Spring Cloud Streams
  • Experience with OSS Cloud Foundry, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, or Pivotal Web Services
  • Experience with JavaScript, especially ReactJS
  • Experience designing and developing microservices architecture solutions
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment, especially using Concourse CI or Jenkins

Expectations
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
