Job Description

As a Senior Technology Architect, you will identify new enabling technologies and platforms to help solve technical challenges, and serve as a subject matter expert for one or more software solutions. As a member of this team you will lead research and consultation decisions on existing or emerging technologies and associated services, processes and support strategies while also leading the evaluation of technology innovation and set direction for technology roadmap, implementation and support strategies for technology roadmap and domain architecture. Your responsibilities will also include defining documentation requirements and assist in the preparation of proper documentation compliant with standard operating procedures. You will also be responsible for managing definition of user needs, providing input to functional design, testing, troubleshooting and basic system management. Finally, you will assess risks and implement mitigation strategies within the technology architecture while collaborating with business development, IP development and partner stakeholders to align solution strategy and priorities.

As Manager, you will have responsibility for leading a team of talented engineers and architects in the design, development, deployment and support of a world class healthcare IT network. You will have overall ownership for the strategy and advancement of this network, and keeping up with the ever expanding needs of the business. Children’s National is growing immensely, and the network has to keep pace with the ever increasing needs for more bandwidth and additional locations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 6 years of system engineering or technical consulting work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of complex, full-cycle technology implementation work experience
  • At least 5 years systems management, implementation and operations work experience for client/server applications
  • At least 5 years experience in TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting work
  • At least 3 years managing a high performing network team
Expectations
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington DC area
  • Willing to travel as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
