Job Description

As a Business Developer on the Real Time Health System Communications team, you will drive new business development in a new or emerging market by creating business relationships to position Cerner in the marketplace. You will do this by developing sales channel approaches, financial business models, product and engineering business cases, sales opportunities and performing a variety of other research and business development responsibilities. Through the use of technology our goal is to streamline and support clinical workflow process in a more meaningful way for the caregiver and the person. This includes the creation of medical device connectivity, imaging, medication dispensing, mobility, communications, hospital operations, staff optimization, core infrastructure and smart room technologies. Depending upon the new business the Business Developer will set up and manage strategic relationships and alliances with other third-party companies, where the companies may leverage each other's expertise, technologies or other intellectual property to expand capabilities to bring to market new businesses and solutions.

About Sales, Marketing & Strategy


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 5 years of general business, health care or other IT related business work experience
  • At least 3 years of health care information technology (HCIT) product management, business development, sales or consulting work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration
  • At least 3 years of selling integrated healthcare or technology solutions and business development work experience
  • At least 1 year of experience working with long sales cycles (1+ years)
  • Experience selling at high levels in the healthcare market (CEO, COO, CFO level)
  • Willing to travel up to 50%
  • Residing in or able to relocate to the greater Kansas City area
