Join the team as part of our partnership with Adventist Health. This longstanding strategic alignment and shared goal to improve quality of care and patient experience assumes day-to-day management of Adventist Health’s revenue cycle and clinical applications IT staff.

As a Coding Manager, you will manage operations of virtual Ambulatory Medical Coders, working directly with Adventist Health West sites. Utilize your expertise to analyze daily report to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely assignment of codes and allocation of resources. Also, interpret payer-specific policies during compliance audits and investigations as well as review coding denials and respond as appropriate. Develop, revise, and update processes, policies and procedures related to coding. Collaboration with other Cerner and Adventist Health departments is key to ensure quality and compliance and coordinate to adhere to current coding practices. Your expertise and knowledge will be utilized as you provide ongoing education to coders and coding supervisors. Other leadership aspects include directing work efforts and results of the team of associates, development of team goals, coaching performance, completing performance reviews, goal setting, and development planning.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • At least 3 years of medical coding experience
  • At least 2 years of people management work experience
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or Healthcare
Expectations
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Assume on-call responsibilities as needed
  • Willing to travel up to 20-40% as needed
  • Must live in southern California or be willing to relocate
