We create software solutions to support clinicians and healthcare professionals in hospitals and healthcare organizations worldwide, and we are looking for a Human Factors Researcher to join exciting projects addressing patient safety and user experience. We’ve grown the largest User Experience team in our industry with the specific goal of reshaping our applications to anticipate user needs. Cerner’s human factors researchers collaborate with clinicians, healthcare staff, and patients to identify and solve complex health care issues. The Human Factors Research team conducts a wide variety of research across devices and experiences including various stages of design. This makes our solutions easier to use and faster to navigate while also improving the intelligence of the overall system.

As Human Factors Researcher, you will advise internal development teams on user interface design and usability through application of human factors principles, standards, and methodology to identify and mitigate design induced end-user performance issues. You will facilitate and execute remote and in-person quantitative and qualitative usability research studies and will also interpret and analyze the results of usability testing and evaluations to validate the success quality of a design based on established usability goals.

In this role you will facilitate the most effective method to elicit and represent stakeholder and end-user requirements at each stage of the development process. You will be expected to present and communicate usability research findings to project teams and stakeholders and will address usability goals in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, acceptability, training impact, and error tolerance for a project.
Your tasks may also include continuing self-education of design best practices and the human factors field of study. Additionally, you will define participant requirements and support recruiting efforts for human factors research studies.

About Sales, Marketing & Strategy


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cognitive Psychology, or Ergonomics, or Experimental Psychology, or Human-Computer Interaction, or Industrial Engineering, or Informatics, or Information Science, or Psychology or a related field, or related equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in Romanian and English
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Usability research methods
  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Additional Information
