Join the team as a Health Information Management (HIM) Manager with the exciting expansion of the partnership between Cerner and Adventist Health. This strategic alignment between Cerner and Adventist Health, provides an integrated revenue cycle platform across Adventist Health’s acute, ambulatory and post-acute venues. Covering all Adventist Health’s revenue management services to improve end-to-end revenue management across the entire Adventist Health organization.

As an HIM Manager you will manage all functions and personnel in the Health Information Management department onsite at Adventist Health White Memorial in Los Angeles, CA. Utilizing your HIM expertise and leadership capabilities you will monitor compliance with key HIM indicators to maintain enterprise objectives as well as set and enforce policies, procedures, and guidelines ensuring timely and accurate operations. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement standards for data content, data mapping, and documentation within the organization to support quality data and accurate coding for payment purposes. Responsibilities will also include investigating issues surrounding data variability to quantify their impact and identify solutions. Play a pivotal role in maintaining high quality HIM services by contributing to design, implementation, training, and ongoing evaluation of Electronic Health Records (HER) which support collection of high-quality data at the point of care. Also lead abstracting and retrieval of medical data used for evaluation, planning or research in health care and health-related programs.

Leadership aspects are not only utilized during management of routine associate situations but also in development of the team through team goals, promotion of diversity, and creating a respectful work environment. As a leader you will also develop associates through coaching performance, completing performance reviews, goal setting, and development planning.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Health Care or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 3 years Health Information Management (HIM) work experience
  • At least 1 year people management work experience

Preferred Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care, Computer Science, Business, or Information Systems
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

Expectations
  • Must live in or around the Los Angeles, CA area or be willing to relocate
  • Willing to travel up to 20-40% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

Additional Information
