Director of Service Management at Children's National

Job Description

As the Director of Service Management you will be responsible for the development of quality and process strategies to support the successful execution of key operations and monitoring activities required to ensure the stability, quality assurance, service delivery and reliability of critical systems related to the deployment of service standards and frameworks; such as, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and/or COBIT (Control Objectives for Information Related Technology) and related best practices across Children’s National to improve the customer experience.

You will work with senior leaders to develop plans and budgets for IT Service Management (ITSM). You will work with key stakeholders to maximize the use of business and enterprise support system applications related to improvements in productivity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and streamlined processes. Select, develop, coach, mentor, and assess performance of staff. You will conduct direct report’s employee performance appraisals, as applicable, according to Health System policies and complete by due date. You will effectively supervise and utilize staff to meet department objectives in compliance with Human Resource policies and standards.

About Engineering & Technology


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 3 years project management work experience or successful completion of Cerner's Engagement Owner Development Program
  • At least 1 year Health Care Information Technology (HCIT) consulting and/or support work experience
​Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years PeopleSoft functional work experience
  • At least 5 years ERP consulting and/or support work experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience and understanding of: Oracle support, PeopleSoft configuration, enhancement, and support
  • Must reside near or be willing to relocate to the greater Washington D.C. metro area
  • Must be able to travel 10-20%
