As a Senior System Architect at Cerner you will be working with the Cloud Team within a DevOps culture that requires highest level of system & running solutions stability with incident free uptime. In this role, you are required to manage, monitor, automate and document operational tasks across the mixed infrastructure of Cloudera Hadoop/Hbase/Yarn, Zookeeper, Storm, kafka like large scale distributed systems running on Redhat Enterprise Linux or Oracle Enterprise Linux 6/7 wherein you are expected to ensure underlying systems are updated, secure, patched and deployed with latest released deployment. Additionally, you will be also required to setup granular operating system & application level Zabbix and Newrelic monitoring along with setting up crucial triggers within our log aggregation tool Splunk. These are intended to serve as a helping hand in performance tuning on the platform and solutions that run over it which also requires working closely with developers of those solutions to ensure necessary changes are reviewed and rolled over as a deployment over a change management process.

As a Senior System Architect you will also be responsible to cover 12/7 on-call per rotation basis and identify the corners of operations infrastructure that are time consuming and repetitive which is expected to be automated using Ruby scripting and Shell scripting along with Chef cookbook development over source controlled development process involving GitHub, Jenkins & rundeck like tools for orchestration.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Masters in Computer Application or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

• At least 5+ years of extensive hands on experience with Cloudera Hadoop/Hbase/Yarn, Zookeeper, Storm, Kafka

• At least 5+ years of extensive hands on experience with Chef Cookbook development, Chef Deployments, Ruby Scripting

• At least 5+ years of experience with Shell scripting & Ruby programming on RHEL/OEL 6/7

• At least 5+ years of experience with Red hat Enterprise Linux or Oracle Enterprise Linux

• At least 5+ years of hands on experience with Zabbix monitoring

• At least 5+ years of hands on experience with Splunk for log aggregation

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloudera Certified Architect

• AWS Certified Architect


• Ability to provide on-call support on a rotating basis

• Ability to concurrently manage several tasks and prioritize using guidance from leadership

Additional Information
