Cerner is growing! As an Electrical Designer on the SBU's Laboratory Automation Development team, you will design and analyze electrical systems and equipment. You will utilize process design to conform to configuration management, prepare and present design recommendations and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality design specifications. As a key member of the team, you will prepare project scopes of work, preliminary design concepts, and cost estimates for small projects, and you will assist in gathering field data and preparing project specifications. You will also develop high-quality, error-free industrial software programs in keeping with the defined project requirements and prepare scopes of work, bills of material, specifications, cost estimates, and other necessary projects documents. Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Automation Engineering or related field
  • At least 1 year experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks)
  • At least 1 year of Electrical design experience or prior internship in electrical design
  • Working experience in controls, automation, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Working experience in PLC programming and power electronics
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Additional Information
