Job Description

Cerner Corporation is currently seeking a Health Center Manager Physician Assistant for our on-site health center for a large, local employer in Irving, TX. This health center has a proactive, educative approach where associates and their dependents are motivated to adopt healthy lifestyles and practices.

As a Health Center Manager Physician Assistant you will have both clinical and staff management responsibilities. You will conduct exams and develop treatment plans for injuries, acute illnesses, and chronic conditions. This includes performing diagnostic testing, prescribing medications, and performing minor surgical interventions, when needed. Patient education is a big focus, so you will play a key role by counseling patients on preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medications. Your staff management activities include proactively addressing issues, determining schedules and allocating resources appropriately, and assessing performance to ensure effective patient care. You will also provide coaching around performance, complete performance reviews, and provide development planning, while creating a respectful work environment.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Master's degrees in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Health Science (MHS), or Medical Science (MMSc) from an accredited program or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Occupational Health, Emergency Medicine, Primary Care or Urgent Care health center setting
  • At least 3 years of health care operations management work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Basic and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification

Expectations:
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, overtime or irregular hours when needed
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understanding personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Must live in or near the Irving, TX area

Additional Information
