Job Description

The Technology Improvement team is hiring for a Lead Technical Engagement Leader. The Technology Improvement team applies our problem management process to client incidents, to optimize each of the technology stacks that are used in the client environments. The Tech Improvement team's overall mission is to be a trusted partner in providing the most reliable, highest performing and cost effective delivery of technology services for healthcare.

This role requires strong hands on technical experience along with strong project management experience. In addition you will be working with directly with clients on their client hosted solutions. You will be using your Project and Production Management skills to coordinate events with both clients and other Cerner teams. You will be managing ongoing tasks from technology roadmaps, domain strategies to new solution implementations, technical currency upgrades, software/solution upgrades, security patching, etc. This position is for a Technical Engagement Leader so in addition to the Project Management requirements, it also requires a strong technical background and understanding as well as experience with Jira and Microsoft Office applications. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously while working across multiple team environments and time zones.

Qualifications


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related Technology field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 5 years of Project Management work experience
  • At least 7 years of Information technology work experience or equivalent relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of client facing experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in a technical capacity with a variety of different systems including both Windows and Linux
  • Experience with ITIL best practices

Expectations

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Willingness to travel as needed (0-20%)
  • Willingness to participate in an on call rotation if needed
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
