Job Description

As a Senior System Security Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery and performance of Cerner’s security solutions and infrastructure. Your specific responsibilities include but are not limited to participating in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, process and procedures; maintaining global enterprise security solutions and infrastructure delivering high availability and performance; leading deployment activities related to new solutions and technologies; performing system maintenance activities; assessing new software releases and patches, contributing to development of test plans, and developing implementation procedures and guidelines; contributing to the design and development of solution performance data collection, alarm and performance criteria and reporting capabilities; providing technical support on system and application performance issues; and participating in incident, change and problem management functions.

As a leader on this team, you will manage routine associate situations and direct the work efforts and results of a team of associates. You will be tasked with developing team goals and managing them for results. You will play an integral role in developing associates through coaching performance, completing performance reviews, goal setting and development planning while promoting diversity and creating a respectful work environment.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree CIS, MIS, Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 3 years of IT Security experience
  • At least 3 years of System Administration background for Linux and/or Windows


  • Willing to work overtime or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Philadelphia area
